Iron Man 3 is set to begin principle photography next year with a release date of May 2013. The first Iron Man was one of the best comic movies in history, but Iron Man 2 couldn’t capture the same feel as the first one. But now the franchises’ star, Robert Downey Jr., says that the third film could be the best yet. Iron Man 3 will be directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon), replacing Jon Favreau.
In an interview with Extra, RDJ discussed the upcoming Avengers flick and Iron Man 3. During the interview he says that the Iron Man 3 script is, “Probably the best script I’ve read in five year.” He also said that he wants the third film to return to the storytelling and humor that made “the first one good.”
