New Comics: Week of Oct. 19th

Every Wednesday people from all walks head to their local comic book shop or fire up their computers to pick up new comics. Every week Direct Geek will give you a few new books that we’re excited about.

DC's Batman #2Batman #2, DC Comics

Now that the hype around the ‘New 52′ is dying down, the stories have to start living up to their new audiences. Batman #1 was one of the more interesting books of the relaunch, it will be interesting to see if this story can deliver on its beginning.

Image Comics' 68 #4’68 #4 (of 4), Image Comics

This miniseries, which started with a one-shot back in 2010, finishes its run with the release of book 4. The creative team behind ’68 asked themselves, “if the dead began rising in Pennsylvania in 1968 (a la Night of the Living Dead), what was happening across the rest of the world?” The mini-series concludes their look at zombies in Vietnam during the Vietnam war.

Marvel's Fear Itself #7Fear Itself #7 (of 7)

Another miniseries coming to a close. This Marvel offering was the major summer event for the publisher, dipping its reach into nearly every series over the Summer. The finale sees  Tony Stark and the rest of the Avengers rising up from Asgard to defend Earth. Marvel promises that not everyone will make it out of this book alive.

DC's TPB Gotham Central On the Freak BeatGotham Central: On the Freak Beat

The third trade paperback of Gotham Central combines books 23-31. Gotham Central takes a look at Gotham City, not through the eyes of the cape crusader, but the other people sworn to protect the city…the Gotham Police Department. A series that is highly recommended.
